Fa temps que pensava en fer un llistat de les aplicacions que tinc instal·lades al meu Ubuntu Dapper, per mostrar la quantitat, qualitat i varietat de programari lliure amb què et pots trobar en una distribució basada en Debian com aquesta.
Molt de programari i molt bo.

Avui he aconseguit fer aquesta mena de fotografia de la meua distribució favorita per, en un futur, poder comparar les aplicacions que tindré amb les que tinc ara.

Cal, però, fer unes precisions:
- Sols són aplicacions gràfiques, més fàcils de comparar amb les que et pots trobar en el seu competidor privatiu. Cal recordar que en una instal·lació pelada del sistema operatiu de MS no tens pràcticament cap aplicació. En canvi, la majoria de les que apareixen en aquest llistat les tens en una instal·lació d’una Ubuntu. I debades.
- No és un llistat exhaustiu. De fet, no estan totes les aplicacions que tinc al meu ordinador. Ni molt menys! Són les principals, però encara hi ha moltes més. De fet, quasi faig servir més aplicacions de consola que no pas gràfiques.
- Sóc estudiant d’enginyeria tècnica d’informàtica de sistemes i això es nota. Moltes aplicacions són utilitzades en tasques de desenvolupament. Segurament, un altre usuari d’Ubuntu tindrà altres moltes aplicacions, i segurament seran molt distintes a les meues.
- Cal recordar que en Debian en general i Ubuntu en particular tens prop de 18000 aplicacions completament legals, debades i la majoria completament lliures per a ser utiltizades, tan sols a un clic de distància adsl del teu ordinador.
- També cal recordar que la meua versió del sistema operatiu GNU/Linux Ubuntu és la Dapper, és a dir la versió inestable i potser les meues versions són un poc més avançades que les que pugues tenir al teu ordinador, que segurament seran més estables.
- La classificació que he fet dels programes és orientativa. He seguit més o menys la que dóna el programa Synaptic per al programari d’Ubuntu, però podia haver-los posat en altre ordre o classificació.
